Sometimes it is necessary to cancel the car boot sale. Whilst this is usually due to the weather or ground conditions it can also be caused by other factors such as external events including large cycle races passing through the village or ad-hoc junior motorcross racing held on the adjacent land.

The front page of the website will always carry any updates throughout the week and if we are certain we have to cancel a message will be posted as soon as the decision is made.

Last minute decisions. We don't make these, we don't want you to have a wasted journey!

As the event holder it is difficult to tell if the weather forecasts are correct or if ground conditions may improve or deteriate. Even if a scorching sunny day is forecast previous rainfall may have left the fields too damp for tcar boot sale raffic.

We assess the fields and weather forecasts at 7.30am on the day of the sale and take many other factors into account before posting an update on the front page of the website and on our phone update service by 8.30am at the latest. This should give even our earliest stall holders at least 2 1/2 hours advance notice.

We ask that everyone either visits the website or calls our update answer-service before setting out - even if the weather looks good.

Prebooked?

If you have prebooked and made a donation online through our justgiving charity pages then we will hold your pitches open for another time that suits you. Please simply email us and we will re-arrange the booking. There is no need to make a further donation.
