Car boot sales are a marvellous and sociable way of clearing unwanted items and generating some profit from their resale. It can not be doubted that the reuse of an item is far better than the recycling of it.
It’s a sad fact that not all materials can be recycled and in these cases it’s vital that we follow the trail to their disposal and examine the best and most environmentally practical ways to reduce their carbon footprint and overall impact on our environment.
With more than 10 years experience in waste management we are aware that large volumes of unwanted/ unsold items from car boot sales end up being taken to household waste recycling centres.
This can mean numerous persons taking trips to their local waste centre to dispose of their unsold car boot items. We see this as a small but irritating thorn in an otherwise perfect system for alleviating the burden of waste recycling that car boot sales offer.
The Rusper Car Boot Sale strives to maintain its flagship status as responsible innovator and in answer to this from 2012 be offering an onsite waste disposal service. We will be using a fully licensed vehicle as an onsite point for customers who wish to dispose of unsold/ unwanted car boot sales items.
Vitally, this will mean that only one trip will be necessary to dispose of these items and therefore saving countless journeys by individuals in their cars to waste sites, which you will agree will have a positive impact on the environment.
We are also hoping to get some local charities involved who may be able to use some goods for fundraising.
