Car Boot Sale News & Summary for Sunday October 23rd

Apologies for no update last week. This was due to tech problem.

October has been very kind to us and is definatley making up or all the weeks we missed earlier in the season! Sunday saw our highest ever number of buyers, many coming considerable distances to join us.

Where else but Rusper?
We were able to put some updates on our facebook page and some of you may have read about the delighted fellow who picked up an 18ct gold and diamond ring for £1. The crazy thing is the seller knew it was gold! Another beaming buyer showed me some lovely Georgian solid silver flatware (cutlery to you and me), that he'd give a couple of quid for!

SHELTER
I know a lot of sellers are already taking advantage of this service. The people who are collecting the donated items have asked us to say a big thank you to everyone. The collection van will now be in the car park opposite the centre exit point and anybody wishing to donate goods must please drive in and drop off. Please do not park on the exit road or verge!
In order to retain this service and to ensure that the charity are receiving suitable items we ask that you do not put broken items or rubbish in the bags provided. Please do not leave your filled charity bag(s) in the field - take it to the van. 

TRAFFIC
We are aware that there was a queue for a short while as buyers vehicles entered the site. We do take all traffic issues seriously and have been working constantly to refine the traffic strategy. Next season we will be implementing changes that should speed up traffic and reduce queues on the road.

DOG BOWLS
We get asked this a lot! The water bowls for your dogs is located near the Country Kitchen Food Kiosk, beside the large 'No Sales of..' sign.  

 CHANGES
Along with changes to the traffic control and based on lots of feedback and insight from visitors, marshals and the land owner we will be making a few more refinements and also some alterations to next years boot sales. We will of course advise everyone well in advance. We are confident that these changes will extend our position as the South Easts most friendly and fun boot Sales. :)

CAR PARK
We would kindly ask that all drivers follow the directions of the marshals. We appreciate that as the car park fills it is further to walk to the entrance but this is just the way of things, just like a Tesco car park. Drivers who ignore directions and park wherever they like cause extreme problems for everyone. It has been suggested we operate a 'Free of Charge' wheel clamping exercise. This would mean offenders vehicles being clamped until the Clamp officer returns with the keys at 4pm. It would be far simpler if certain people used the car park properly.

Please remember - if you arrive too early you'll just be twiddling your thumbs and wondering why you didn't spend an extra hour in bed!
